Job Description
JOB TITLE:                Regional Manager:  Business Development NE Region
REPORTS TO:           Vice President of Sales and Operations                         Exempt
 
SUMMARY: High Level Insurance Production Underwriter/Marketing Rep position ( COASTAL home, condo or valuable articles including VIP accounts) primary emphasis on appointing new quality Insurance Agents in MA and RI, and working with existing agents to explain benefits of writing business with them.  They want a minimum of 10 years experience so it is a higher level position paying base of $85 to $100K plus 40% variable incentive.  The Regional Office is located in Southeastern, NJ, however the candidate will need to reside in MA or RI, working remotely from their residence.  This client markets their insurance products through Independent Insurance Agencies. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initially assess all agents and quantify opportunity and meet with key large agents
  • Generate Qualified Submissions
  • Meet  or  exceed  key  performance  indicators  (In  order      of  priority:        Quote submissions, WP, QTB, retention)
  • Ultimate responsibility for existing agent base in region. Develop proactive agent management strategy for region
  • Identify and develop new agents
  • Work with VP on larger/high value agents – divide and conquer to get necessary objectives completed
  • Proactively monitor, understand, and correct kpi outliers with agents
  • Provide account management support with new and existing agents
  • Provides setup and training for new agents
  • Performs general marketing support and research.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
 
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum:
    • Bachelor’s college degree
    • Minimum of 10 years P&C industry experience
    • Previous account management experience
    • 40-50% Travel – road warrior experience and mentality
    • Ability to work remotely and multi-task. When working from home, have a secure, quiet location
    • Comfort with and motivated by variable compensation
    • Passion to remove obstacles and get any job done
 
  • Possess a professional demeanor in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Must be team-oriented
  • Must be able to handle pressure and adversity
  • Must be results-oriented
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Preferred:
    • P&C insurance license
    • E&S experience
    • HO underwriting/process knowledge
    • Retail agent, carrier experience, or both
    • Strong relationship building skills to any level of the organization, from CSR to Executive
    • Operational knowledge of underwriting and processing functions in insurance. Comprehensive knowledge of insurance products and concepts along with advanced knowledge of underwriting practices and procedures.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain quality relationships with agents, co-workers and management.
