 *  Responsible for full accounting cycle of Property & Casualty Insurance Companies and Life & Health Insurance Companies along with all non insurance affiliated companies. 
 *  Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements including eliminations.
 * Coordinate annual STAT and GAAP audit performed by external auditors under PCAOB guidelines.  Compose the audited financial statement report for filing with the Office of Insurance        Regulation. 
 * Coordinate annual audit performed by the Office of Insurance Regulation, providing all pertinent information as well as coordinating information of other internal departments. 
 * Manage departmental activities to ensure accurate and timely transmission of accounting, financial and statistical reports, filings and data to all regulatory agencies. 
 * Establish corporate accounting policies and procedures. 
 * Implemented Sungard Enterprise Accounting Systems and completed migration from QuickBooks system of all historical transactions. 
 * Coordinate Internal Revenue Service examination, being main point of contact and coordinator of all requested information. 
 * Coordinate Department of Revenue audit of premium tax returns, being main point of contact and coordinator of all requested information. 
 * Analyze and review complex accounting and financial transactions for monthly internal and external reporting related to Reinsurance, Commission, Fixed Assets, Premium Taxes and       investment Portfolio Accounting.
 * Maintain and review various system reconciliations between source systems, financial systems, and operational reporting processes.
 * Evaluate and maintain adequacy of accounting internal controls, policies, procedures and offered solutions for improvement maintaining proper separation of duties as required.
 * Access, extract, upload, and maintain data to financial databases in order to meet special reporting needs.
 * Stay current on new accounting standards and pronouncements, investigating their impact on the company’s objectives and goals.
 * Professionally communicate both verbal and written information to co-workers, managers, and executive committee.
 * Perform additional tasks, duties, and special projects as assigned by senior management.
